Niclas Kesler Memorial Scholarship

Cook & Phillip Park Fee Assistance Program is known as ‘The Niklas Kesler Memorial Scholarship’. This is an essential element of Community Strengthening in YMCA managed Centres not only across Australia, but across the World. Through Fee Assistance, we aim to proactively provide access & opportunity to those suffering financial hardship to all people, regardless of their age, race, ability or financial capacity.
‘The Niclas Kesler Memorial Scholarship’ is in memory of Niclas who was a student in our swim school from the age of 5 months. He tragically and suddenly passed away on 27th February 2009. Staff & teachers were deeply saddened by Niclas’s passing, but were fortunate enough to teach him for the 3 years of his short life. Our ongoing support will be offered to Niclas’s family which will include them in the presentation of this scholarship. To honour his memory, this scholarship will be awarded annually to a child who is a willing participant but unable to afford lessons.
