Children's Services

YMCA of Sydney is an organisation committed to listening and actively responding to the community's needs. Our children's programs are designed to impart positive values and partnerships within the wider community. We provide a safe, nurturing environment where your children can develop social skills, learn through play and build personal assets that assist them in becoming positive, healthy young people who reach their full potential.

YMCA of Sydney provides activities promoting positive, healthy children with a non-bias focus. While children are playing they have opportunities to:

  • Learn new skills and interests
  • Develop guiding values to help them make healthy life choices through interactions with other children and staff
  • Participate in a supportive, caring and encouraging environment
  • Contribute their ideas and opinions to the program in ways that are valued and respected
  • Build self confidence, a positive identity and social skills

Activities include:

  • Physical activities that develop fitness, coordination and sportsmanship
  • Healthy eating and cooking that teach valuable life skills
  • Creative art projects that develop an appreciation of different cultures
  • Music, dance and drama experiences that help children to express themselves

YMCA of Sydney works on a holistic approach by following annually reviewed childcare policies that are on offer to parents and key stakeholders at all times.

The YMCA is a Centerlink registered childcare provider. To register for Family Assistance and Childcare Benefit (CCB) please phone 132 413 or visit www.familyassistance.gov.au and quote the reference number for your YMCA centre. Families for whom English is not the primary language may receive translation assistance by calling 13 1202. All families wishing to use our OSHC service must register beforehand.

Regardless of your child's additional care requirements, YMCA of Sydney is happy to discuss and explore the best solutions for you and your child's individual needs. Commonwealth support and funding is also available to assist child care services to include children with additional needs.
