Information for Members

For your comfort, safety and consideration to other members:

  • Please bring a towel and water bottle to each class.
  • Appropriate footwear must be worn and age restrictions apply to some classes.
  • Please inform the instructor of any injuries/health problems prior to class starting.
  • For your safety, we do not recommend for you join a class once the warm-up has started.
  • Please also let the instructor know if you need to leave the class early.

Class description

Ab Blast - An intense 30-minute workout focusing on your core. Enjoy a variety of exercises and challenges that will develop all areas of your abdominals and help strengthen your lower back.

BodyPump - The ultimate barbell workout with all the benefits of weight training using adjustable weights in a friendly environment and set to great music. All welcome!

Brightside - A group fitness class that is part our FREE 60 day program for people 14 years and above who are at prodromal or remission phases of mental illness. This class help lifts moods to overcome mental illness. For more info speak to one of our friendly staff.

Functional Fitness - A class targeted at strengthening and developing muscle tone whilst getting the heart rate up!

Kettlebell Class - This class is a resistance based class using a \'kettlebell\' which has been used for centuries, great for toning and developing muscles.

Pilates - A class that teaches a unique method of body control and conditioning, focusing on alignment and positioning while encouraging the deeper trunk muscles to strengthen.

PowerHour - A cross training/circuit based class that is designed to work your entire body using a combination of resistance and cardiovascular training to improve your muscle tone and fitness levels in a fun and friendly environment.

Powerbox - A cardiovascular workout using resistance and boxing training equipment. Can be modified for beginners to advanced. Great for strengthening and toning upper body muscles as well as improving fitness and core stabilisation.

RPM - Great music inspires you through a range of riding terrains enacted through the use of resistance and variable speeds. Entry-level options are encouraged along with intense power training for the elite. No coordination required.

Rock Climbing - Suitable for all YMCA members of all ages including gymnastics members. Please feel free to bring a friend or family members for free! No specific duration, climb for however little or long you like between the allocated time frame.

Step - A freestyle step class designed to tone those butts and thighs, while burning calories in a fun filled class using a stationary step, class includes abdominal training.

TRX - A 30- 45 minute express class using the TRX suspension training system. Perform dynamic, core engaging movements as you enjoy this functional workout.

Yoga (Hatha) - Overcome daily stress and increase wellbeing by working with posture (asana), breathing (pranayama) and relaxation (yoga nidra).

Zumba - Calorie burning, body energising and awe inspiring movement! Zumba fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a session like no other, no matter the fitness level. There are no wrong moves in Zumba!
