The Penrith City YMCA offers a wide range of youth, family and community services, along with health and fitness, gymnastics, recreation and leisure opportunities.

Including a fitness centre, international standard gymnastics arena, indoor sports court and multi purpose program rooms, the Centre is a multi-purpose facility and our experienced, qualified staff conduct programs and services to cater for the diverse ages, interests and abilities of surrounding communities while building opportunities for individuals, families and community groups to connect, feel welcome and grow in body, mind and spirit.

Activities and Programs

Children's Services

YMCA of Sydney is an organisation committed to listening and actively responding to the community's needs. Our children's programs are designed to impart positive values and partnerships within the wider community. We provide a safe, nurturing environment where your children can develop social skills, learn through play and build personal assets that assist them in becoming positive, healthy young people who reach their full potential. - Before and After School Care
  Before School Care is a great program for children of parents who need care before school hours. Children will enjoy unstructured play and stimulating activities that help get them ready for the day ahead.
  
  Our After School Care program offers a wide range of varied and flexible activities. Children can choose from a variety of materials and resources including computers, arts, crafts, music, cooking and sports. With the support of qualified, experienced staff, children select and plan their own activities and experiences. In consultation with parents, staff can also supervise homework.
- Creche Look after yourself while we look after the kids! The YMCA's creche service provides your children with a safe and caring environment, whilst you as the parent are enjoying your own YMCA experience, whether it be your fitness regime, or taking an art class.
- Holiday Adventures: School Holiday Activities
  FUN in the holidays! YMCA Holiday Adventures provides diverse and exciting school holiday activities for school-aged children at YMCA locations right across Sydney. Our Holiday Adventures: school holiday activities offer CCB supported, affordable fun for everyone! The YMCA is the world's largest provider of childcare services so you know you can trust the YMCA. Activities include theme days, exciting excursions, specialty clinics in sports and creative arts and MUCH more!
  
  Our enrolment process involves 2 forms;
  1. The Holiday Adventures Enrolment form: an annual form valid for all of 2009, this collects essential, detailed information to ensure we best look after your child.
  2. The Holiday Adventures Booking form: tells us what activities / sessions your child will be doing and when.
  Parents of children already enrolled in before or after school care for 2008 DO NOT need to fill out the Holiday Adventures Enrolment form only the Holiday Adventures Booking form.
Community Sports Competitions

Professionally run and SERIOUSLY FUN, our sports competitions focus on fun, fairness and participation. We use great facilities and referees and offer the latest in online draws, results and fixtures. Find out more about Community Sports Competitions.
- Indoor Soccer Indoor Soccer is a fun way to enjoy indoor team sport and develop fitness. It is also the ideal way to enhance your skills and fitness for the outdoor season. All you need is four friends and you have your team!
- Indoor Netball A great, fun way to enjoy this popular team sport or to maintain your skills and fitness for the outdoor season.

Gymnastics

Gymnastics is the ideal way to tumble, jump and spin into fun and fitness at your local YMCA! Gymnastics truly is the program to help children develop in body, mind and spirit. Find out more about Gymnastics.
- Artistic Gymnastics The YMCA is a recognised leader in the delivery of gymnastics programs for all ages and abilities. Gymnastics is the ideal way for children to develop strength, coordination and flexibility, motor skills, confidence and self esteem. YMCA of Sydney's gymnastics clubs offer varying levels of the Artistic Gym program.
- Kindergym
  YMCA Kindergym is a physical and social development program for children aged 18mths - 5 yrs, based on gymnastics skills and apparatus. Kindergym kids learn to be stronger in body (motor skills, strength and coordination), mind (creativity, cognitive development and problem solving) and spirit (social development and confidence).
  
  With our unique "themed" program, children experience a new adventure every fortnight like circus, superheroes, the Olympics, jungle safari and more.

Health and Fitness

- Cycling An indoor cycling class based on outdoor riding. Your friendly YMCA instructor will guide you through a challenging workout of various terrains and intervals to motivational music helping you to achieve a fantastic workout. Participants of all abilities are more than welcome to come and challenge themselves to YMCA indoor cycling.
- Group Fitness Enjoy fun fitness with friends at your local YMCA. We offer a diverse range of group fitness programs delivered by our friendly qualified instructors. From traditional aerobics to boxing based classes, circuits and more alternative health programs.
- Personal Training Raise the bar on your health and fitness goals with our professional & affordable personal training. Our friendly, qualified personal trainers will mix up your routine to keep you interested and motivated.
- Teen Gym The YMCA teen gym program is an after school program for teenagers aged between 12 -15 years offering age appropriate exercise programs for teens run by qualified YMCA fitness trainers. Teen gym is a fun and exciting program in which your children can improve their strength, fitness, general health and well being. Teen Gym will also help develop positive exercise habits for life, as well as helping young people grow in confidence and self-esteem.

- Badminton Badminton is a great sport and a fun social activity. We offer competitions and court hire. A great way to keep fit and have fun!
- Birthday Parties Organised, weather proof and active birthday fun at your local YMCA. We offer a great range of birthday party options run by our friendly and enthusiastic staff and utilising our fantastic facilities.
- Indoor Rock Climbing Rock climbing is an exciting Adventure Activity that challenges participants physically and mentally. Requiring more flexibility and balance than brute strength, climbing is a sport for everyone. Rock climbing is an excellent activity for all ages and levels of ability. It allows participants to set and develop personal goals, challenge themselves and overcome their fears. There is also a special bond between climber and belayer(s), that demands trust, communication, and responsibility.
- Judo Judo is an exciting sport and martial art that focuses on techniques that equip you to defend yourself through the use of throws and grappling techniques. There is no punching, kicking or boring kata to perform. Judo is a dynamic sport that develops strength, coordination, flexibility, balance and self confidence.

School PE

The PDHPE syllabus reflects core YMCA values of developing body, mind and spirit. For this reason the YMCA's school PE program is an essential tool in our promise to build strong people, strong families and strong communities and why in Sydney the YMCA is the most trusted and reliable provider of school PE programs. Youth Leadership

The YMCA has a proud history in developing young leaders. In addition to the provision of specific programs such as the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, youth leadership is a key 'community strengthening promise' that runs through all of the programs that we provide. Find out more about Youth Leadership.
- Future Leaders
  YMCA Future Leaders is an annual personal and professional development program for young YMCA staff aged 18-25. The program delivers personal development and leadership sessions whilst focusing on providing a broader understanding of the YMCA, developing skills directly applicable to their work environments and inspiring them to become a positive influence within their centre. The YMCA is committed to the training and development of it’s staff and Future Leaders is just one example of this commitment.
- Marland Cup
  Marland Cup is the YMCA’s annual state-wide youth camp that began in 1990 to provide young people with the opportunity to participate in ‘clean, healthy fun’. Forming teams of 6-8, young people compete in various challenges over the course of the weekend. Teams are awarded points for their achievement and at the end of the weekend, these points are tallied. The team with the highest amount of points take home the Marland Cup Trophy. The camp is open to any young person aged 12-17.
